Midget Farrelly 1964 Surfing World Champion

In May 1964 Sydney surfer Bernard ‘Midget’ Farrelly won the first World Surfing Championship at Manly.

His win was a milestone in surfing history firmly establishing the sport of competitive surfing and paving the way for two generations of Australian surfing world champions.
