RIP CURL PRO PORTUGAL IS BACK ON THE GO

SUPERTUBOS, Peniche/Portugal (Monday, October 14, 2013) – The Rip Curl Pro Portugal presented by Moche has been called back on this morning with the elimination Round 2 commencing at 8:30am in 2-3 foot (1 metre) waves at the primary venue of Supertubos.

Event No. 9 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Rip Curl Pro Portugal plays a vital role in the hunt for the 2013 ASP World Title as well as the battle for elite tour requalification.

“We’ve seen a swell arrive early this morning and we’ll be recommencing competition immediately,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We have clean conditions this morning but will keep an eye on the wind, making adjustments to the call accordingly. Good luck to all our competitors today.”

Up first this morning will be current ASP WCT No. 1 Mick Fanning (AUS), 32, against Fancisco Alves (PRT), 20 in the opening heat of Round 2.
