KERAMAS, Bali/Indonesia (Saturday, June 22, 2013) – Small surf has forced event organizers to call a second consecutive lay day today, but projected swell could see the event recommence as early as tomorrow.
Stop No. 5 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Oakley Pro Bali enjoyed great surf and barrier-breaking performances over the last three days of competition, completing Rounds 1 and 2 and showcasing the world’s best surfers at Keramas for the first time in history. Round 3 could potentially recommence as early as tomorrow.
“Still small surf this morning but projections have swell energy moving into the area later tonight,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ve called the event off for the day, but will return early tomorrow to see what is on tap.”
Event organizers will reconvene at 6:30am to assess conditions for a potential 6:45am start.
