MARGARET RIVER, WA/Australia (Wednesday, March 20, 2013) – The wind is howling and all signs are pointing towards a new swell arriving sometime tonight, but unfortunately there isn’t enough swell to resume the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro today and a lay-day has been called.

Stop No. 2 of 8 on the ASP Women’s World Championship Tour, the 2013 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro plays a vital role in deciding this year’s ASP Women’s World Champion.

The Drug Aware Margaret River Pro is also the first men’s ASP PRIME rated event for the 2013 season, offering maximum points towards 2014 ASP World Championship Tour qualification campaigns.

“The good news is the surf isn’t dead flat like yesterday, but the increase isn’t enough for us to resume competition,” ASP Australasia General Manager Dane Jordan said. “We are expecting an increase in swell size tomorrow and Friday, potentially solid surf on Saturday and classic conditions on Sunday.”

A call will be made at 6am for a possible 6:30am start to either men’s or women’s divisions tomorrow.
